Behind the Band: Rita Raverty and the River Falls Band Boosters
Guest: Rita Raverty
Sarah talks with Rita Raverty, a River Falls family physician and Band Boosters volunteer, about the parents and volunteers supporting River Falls High School instrumental music across the St. Croix Valley. The Boosters coordinate travel, uniforms, instruments, meals, hydration, medical volunteers, chaperones, and fundraising so directors can focus on teaching.
Rita shares what it takes to move about 130 students through marching season, along with community events including the Pops concert and jazz swing dance. They also discuss recent support for marching baritones and a band-room AV system, the continuing need for fundraising and volunteer time, and how Play It Forward helps alumni, former band parents, businesses, and neighbors stay involved.
